The Confederation aims to signpost a range
of activities & provision. In many
cases the information is being provided
by the providers. The Confederation does not
take any responsibility
for the accuracy of information nor has it
undertaken any checks on providers.
It is important that parents / carers / guardians
do their own checks to ensure they are happy
with the activity, the provider and the situation
within which it is offered before allowing their
child/charge to engage in them.
As many as one in five children may at some time need extra help with their education and they are said to have 'Special Educational Needs (SEN)'.
In this section, you can find information about what special educational needs are and how we help children of all ages with SEN.

IMPORTANT
This and related pages in this section contain the information expected for Surrey to fulfil the requirements of providing Special Educational Needs information under the Education (SEN) (Provision of Information by LEAs) (England) Regulations 2001 (statutory instrument 2001 No.2218)
This is a problem that every school in the Confederation faces.
Now there is help at hand, Blade Education has produced DVDs for use in KS1 and KS2 schools that speak to the child and their parents, in their own language, and helps them through the basic social and organisational matters they will encounter at a English school. Currently they cover 6 languages, but from March that will expand to 12 languages, English, Bengali, Mandarin, Polish, Urdu, French, Japanese, Shona, Arabic, Romanian and Ndeble (an African language).
In March the Confederation will send a copy of these DVDs to each of its KS1 /KS2 schools.
